Who we are

Backstory Health is run by 73mobile LLC, a company incorporated in New York, USA. 73mobile LLC is responsible for your information as described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@73mobile.com.

The Backstory app

Backstory is not open yet. When it opens, this is how your health records will be handled:

• Stored on your phone. The records you add (lab results, scans, reports, photos and PDFs) and the timeline built from them are kept on your own phone, not on our servers.
• Encrypted. Your records are encrypted.
• Reading your reports. To turn a report into values on your timeline, Backstory sends that document to an outside AI service. The service reads it and returns the result. It does not use your data to train its models.
• Private. We never sell your health records, never share them with advertisers and never use them for ads. Your health records are not sent to Meta.
• Your choice to share. Your records only go to a doctor or anyone else when you send them, for example when you email your one-page doctor summary.

This website and the early access list

When you join the early access list we collect your email address. We use it only to tell you when Backstory opens and to hold your founding member price. We don’t send newsletters or spam, and we don’t send your email address to Meta.

To understand which ads and parts of the page work, we also record:

• which link or ad brought you here (for example the campaign name and Meta ad ID in the link);
• your approximate country, region and city, worked out from your IP address. We don’t store the IP address itself;
• your device type, browser, operating system, screen size, language, time zone and light or dark mode;
• how you use the page: which sections you reach, where you tap, how far you scroll, how long you stay, page loading speed and page errors. We record whether you typed into the email field, never what you typed;
• a random ID kept in your browser (local storage) so we can count return visits;
• your answer to the optional “what would you use it for?” question, which we save with your signup and never share with Meta or anyone else.

Our web server also keeps standard technical logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site secure and working.

Meta Pixel

This website uses the Meta Pixel to measure our ads on Instagram and Facebook. It tells Meta when someone visits the page, starts the signup form, views pricing or joins the list, and Meta may set its own cookies to do this. Meta handles this information under its own privacy policy, where you can also change your ad settings.

Where your information is kept

The early access list and website data are stored on our servers in Germany. 73mobile LLC is based in the USA. Your health records in the app stay on your phone.

Who can use Backstory

You must be 18 or older to join the early access list or use Backstory. Parents and legal guardians can keep their children’s records in their own Backstory. We don’t knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 18.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to take you off the early access list. Email hello@73mobile.com. Depending on where you live, for example in the UK, Ireland or certain US states, you may have further rights under local law. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live. If you are in the UK or Ireland, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your health records, we will tell you before it applies.
